Catch-up time

My attempts at being grateful and making note of my blessings has been pretty pathetic lately, so I am implementing a mandatory once a day blog for the month of November. It's a good time to get back on track and get into the season of thanks. But November starts tomorrow, so here is an update on what we've been up to lately. We have quite a bit to be thankful for.

In August Carver and I were able to go to Colorado and spend time with friends. I grew up in Thornton which is just north of Denver. I loved growing up in Colorado! We went to Elitches theme park, the Denver Zoo, the Museum of Nature and Science and we spent time with the Pitchforths who are pretty much the best people ever. I even talked Carver into taking a tour with me down memory lane. He was enthralled as  we visited my old house, the park I played at, the schools I attended-elementary through high school, and many other fascinating places that made up my childhood experience.

This is the house I grew up in! Not much has changed since we left.

Carver taking on the wolves at the museum.

At the museum of Nature and Science they had a program that would project how you would look at the age of 70. We ended up looking very similar to one another which is scary. I have to say that I am sooooo grateful I don't actually look like this. It's a good motivator to take care of myself in the future.

My BFF Elizabeth came into town on the only weekend I happened to be gone! It was a bummer. But when I came home I found a surprise at our door.We have known each other for 10 years now and this was to celebrate tinfinity! Some friends are just wonderful.

I convinced Carver to take me up the Alpine Loop one Sunday afternoon. It was a beautiful day and the leaves were just starting to change. Unfortunately everyone else in Utah County had the same idea. It was packed! We had to pass on a few scenic outlooks because everyone else who stopped created a traffic jam. But I was able to get Carver to pull over for one quick picture of us, the rest were taken from the car. I love autumn time!

Just last night we went with a group of friends to see the JAZZ play against the Oklahoma City Thunder. I'm not a huge fan of either team, but it's always fun to hit up the sporting events. The girls behind us were really entertaining and we got to fill up on Papa Johns pizza, always an enjoyable meal.

Just writing this update reminds me of how blessed I am. I'm excited to spend the next month looking for things that I am grateful for in my life. Happy Halloween!
